I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this camcorder. I have not regreted my decision as it has proven itself for my personal use. I have produced many family events in DVD format using ULEAD and Nero software. The camcorder downloads to my Dell computer as captured clips and I then can produce professional looking movie productions. What fun! My only complaint is the fact that the camera internal screen failed shortly after purchase, but was covered by the warrantee. The service was quite slow while they waited for back order on the part to repair and return it to me. No problems have been experienced since. I would not recommend using the still capture mode to the SD card as the images are not high quality. The feature is fine for occasional shots, but an image capture off the video footage seems to provide a better quality photo. I give this camcorder an extremely high recommendation.
