After fighting with a Cyberhome 1600 for an entire evening (trying to update firmware etc) to no avial, I returned the Cyberhome and purchased Magnavox MRV660 - 17. What do ya know, it works! Not like the Cyberhome that was just one problem after the other. The MRV660 has a iEEE in the front and everything I wanted and needed. It doesn't ask you to 'format the disk' or anything. Just pop in a DVD+R and hit record and your set. Finalizing the disk was also no problem. It played in my other dvd players and my laptop without a problem. I have recorded from DirectTV (tivo) and from my Sony Video Camera.

I highly recommend it...for the money.

BTW..I am using Verbatim DVD+R (haven't tried the DVD+RW yet).
