Pros:
compact, beautiful screen, great features
Cons:
accessories can be pricey

When I first got my iPod, I thought it was pretty expensive at ~$300 [NOTE: if you're a student or work at a University, get the academic discount!]. Now that I've had the player for a couple months, it'd be worth it at twice the price. The video compenent, while not quite perfect, definitely adds a whole lot to the experience.
