Price:
I replaced an old SMC Barricade with the SRX400 for $67 at Newegg, so the price was right. Much faster processor in the SRX400. I used 3 cheap USB wireless G adapters to replace all the ethernet except for one desktop to do administration. Upgraded to the latest firmware before I started using it and have upgraded once more recently. Excellent range and speed.
The only drawback occurred when I had a VPN session to my company's network and changed a few unrelated parameters. The VPN connection dropped and had to be restarted. If I just leave it alone, it works fine. I have not had to power cycle nor restart the router since I got it. It is powered through a UPS and surge protector, so it is isolated from dips in utility power. I did get one SRX400 PCMCIA card which can exploit the two radios available in this router and achieve 240MB.
