I had been using Alpine HU and other Alpine products since my 1st car back in 1996.I had just upgraded from 9855 to 9861 because it came with optical output to my PXA-H701 which improved SQ a few folds.It's just as capable as 9855 in terms of ipod connection but the Radio reception was so much better than the MX tune found in 9855.The only thing I don't like about it is the features which is hidden in some areas which is hard to find unless you go through the whole manual but still there's 1 thing which I never find in the manual which is the Multi or Quad colour changing procedure.I would definitely recommend the 9861 to those Alpine fans.
