Pros:

cheap and easy to crack open for repair.

Cons:

so cheap that it warrants frequent repair.

My wife purchased this model to replace the x2470 lexmark that had failed us for its inability to scan after only a year. Our first mistake was to go with the same manufacturer and a decendant model.

After less than 6 months of its huge appetite for ink cartridges THIS model x3470 gave a "cover open" error preventing anything from processing ... though the cover wasn't open. We disassembled the model to find the faulty pieces. We repaired it but it still believes it's open.

I'd recommend anyone thinking about buying any of these Lexmark to also consider the cost of owning one. You'll never just buy one of these.
