One of the nice things about HP's new line of digital cameras is the pricing. Robin Raskin wrote about the 8-megapixel R937, which stands out for its 3.7-inch LCD display and touchscreen controls. At $300, this top of HP's new point-and-shoot line is nicely priced. But I'll be checking out the HP E337, a 5-megapixel camera with a 1.5-inch display for $80—a great price for a first camera for a kid. Also new to the lineup is the R742, a 7-megapixel camera with a 2.5-inch display for $179.
HP's newest Photosmart printers both have 3.5-inch screens and red-eye removal on the printer. The $180 HP D7460 printer has an added built-in wireless feature to print from networked PCs and laptops.
For bigger family printing jobs, HP will release the Photosmart C5280 All-in-One printer that has an added features lots of kids and parents would like—including the ability to design and print images directly onto CDs and DVDs. It will cost $150 and will be available this month.
It's a family-friendly lineup I'll be interested in checking out as review units become available.
