First, there was the wedding video. Then the wedding web page. Now, live wedding webcasts may be the next big thing in weddings. At least the next best thing to being there.
This USA Today article takes a look at the trend that has taken off in the past year as more couples are taking off for faraway wedding locales.
The rise in "destination weddings" in vacation hotspots not always easy or affordable for guests to reach is making wedding webcasts a viable option for far-flung friends and family. Nearly one in four weddings are in towns where neither the bride, groom, or their families live. So for about $400 to $750, couples can provide a way for those who can't make the trip to watch them exchange vows from the comfort of their couches.

I "attended" an out of town wedding through www.vowcast.com and was completely impressed. This is an incredible way to share in the "special day" with the couple when you cannot attend. This wedding was really meaningful because the couple had several elderly family members who were unable to travel but were still able to witness the special day. Also, the couple was able to send special messages via the webcast to those in virtual attendance. Awesome!

This site is great... http://www.LiveInternetWeddings.com They produce DVDs, slideshows, AND webcasts...I think they are the best videography company in Hawaii.

Hey Dory - Thanks for the article - I recently came across a similar company that I found through Yahoo called www.OurWeddingCast.com. It was a great way to include my friends and family who couldn't make it to our big day and join in the festivities. I had a great experience working with them, and would recommend them to others.

Hi Dory - we used www.MomentsCapturedLive.com so my mom could watch the wedding live from her hospital bed. They were very helpful in making sure both the church and the hospital were set up for the internet! We would recommend them to others.

Hello Dory - We used www.MomentsCapturedLive.com to broadcast to my Mom. She was restricted to a hospital bed, but they helped us ensure the internet at both the church and the hospital. We woulr recommend them to others.

Not every couple wants to be bothered with the technical details of setting up a live webcast. Idostream.com works with videographers for a live webcast. Let the videographer worry about the technical details of setting up a live webcast. Especially, when the couple is already planning to hire a videographer.

There is the chapel in vegas, which offers free live webcast of the wedding. it then stores the wedding video online for 4 weeks for friends & families to view later. you can also purchase the wedding video in digital format
