You might be tempted to buy Mom an iPod Shuffle for Mother's Day, but here's a better—and cheaper—alternative, the Sansa C250 digital player now available in pink and red. What I like about this tiny music player are the features absent on any clip-on iPod shuffle: FM Radio and a 1.4 inch color display. The Sansa C250 will hold up to 2GB (1,000 songs) of her favorite music and favorite photos, plus it displays album cover art.
It might not have a clip on the back like the iPod Shuffle, but who cares when this slim compact flash player has an FM tuner, voice recorder, and microSD expansion slot. It'll have Mom transferring her favorite MP3, WMA, or WAV tunes at lighting speed via a USB 2.0 interface. I'm glad they now have a red and pink version just in time for Mother's Day. I love iPods, but you can't beat the $99 pricetag on this 2GB Sansa.
