AT&T finally released the LG Shine slider phone on Black Friday. I spotted the slightly different European version of the LG Shine slider phone at CES, which came with a scrolling wheel instead of the five-way joystick it now has. Personally, I would've preferred the scrolling wheel, but I'm curious to see how well the joystick works.
The LG Shine slider has a brushed-metal exterior, a 2-megapixel digital/video camera, an expansion slot, Bluetooth, and a music player. When the phone's 2.2-inch QVGA display is switched off, it turns into a mirror-like surface, perfect for fashionistas or guys who really appreciate a stylish phone. The Shine is available through AT&T for $150 with a two-year contract and a $50 mail-in-rebate.
You may also remember the LG Shine clamshell VX8700 version Ben reviewed back in April. Prior to buying an iPhone, I had a Razr and was planning on switching to the stylish VX8700 after spending some time with it earlier this year. The phone is as thin as a Razr, and the interface was pretty sweet from what I can remember. Now that the LG Shine has finally made it to the United States, I'll have to get my hands on one to find out if it'll live up to the hype. I'll let you know.
