Where's my stimulus payment?

Wondering when your stimulus payment will arrive? According to the IRS website, millions of economic stimulus payments will be sent out starting May 2 until July 11, but if you can't wait to find out when yours will be in the mail then head over to Where's My Stimulus Payment.

The Consumerist points us to this IRS tool that gives you a better idea of when to expect a check in the mail. The tool doesn't provide you with specifics until a week before the payment is scheduled to be issued. However, it does give you an idea of when to expect the payment based on the last two numbers of your social security number.

When you arrive on the site, you'll have to enter your social security number, filing status, and the total number of exemptions on your 2007 tax return, so make sure you're on a secure computer before doing so.

It's not the greatest of tools, but it sure beats checking the mail everyday for a check that may not be there until July. The government, in general, has a reputation for being behind the times when it comes to things like these, so I'm glad the IRS is at least trying to provide services like this one to the public because as you know, people don't like to waiting for their money.

If you received a refund on your 07 federal tax return via direct deposit, your stimulus check will be direct deposited to the same account, and a lot sooner than July 11. Got mine yesterday! Now I can pay for that $4/gallon gas and make it to my job. WooHoo.

How did any of you pay your bills before? Why are you counting on the government to pay your bills and then get mad when they don't get the money to you soon enough. Half of you don't even know how to spell. Tip: go back to school, get an education and stop relying on the government to help you.

The whole thing is a bunch of bull anyway. If your ead through the FAQ you can see they are looking for any excuse to NOT send out the money until the last possibnle moment and any excuse to not direct deposit it. And by the time anyone gets it (if they get it) no one I know is going to run out and just blow it on some un-needed gadget as the government is hoping...

It amazes me that people cannot be thankful we are getting anything back at all. If I have to wait a few weeks longer than said so be it...I will just have it that much longer. What has happened to gratitude?

I'm at present living in a foreign country (Philippines)and I mailed my income tax return April 4, 2007 together with my check for the tax due. Per my bank record, it shows that my check had been cashed by IRS meaning that my tax return had been process, but where is my stimulus payment.

Several weeks ago, Yahoo had a story on the stimulus checks and in it was said that our 2007 returns were separate from the stimulus checks. I was under the impression that if we owed money, our stimulus check would not be affected and we would still receive the check (to stimulate the economy, right?) This is false. I have back taxes that I make payments on and although I received a letter informing me that I was entitled to receive $600 around a certain date, the IRS kept the stimulus check and put it towards my balance. : (

i was supposed to recieve my check two days ago, according to the letter i recieved. i am a single working mother of 3 kids and my only vehicle is broken down. i am waiting for my check to get it fixed. but come on is this what people are really reling on to pay bills.what are you going to do in a month when it is gone? some way some how the goverment will be able to take it back, like raising the gas and even the cost of food so we can take care of our children.
