Virgin Mobile USA now joins the competition by offering an unlimited calling
flat-rate plan. AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint recently introduced
all-you-can-eat calling plans that start at $99.99, but Virgin Mobile's plan
was unveiled at $79.99 without the need of a two-year contract, or activation fees.
PC World says the "Totally Unlimited" prepaid plan will be offered starting July 1st, and will also include unlimited texting and messaging service for an additional $10 per month, which is not bad considering most kids today prefer to send text messages.
This is good news for those who don't want to sign a two-year contract, or can't get service from other providers due to bad credit. The bad news is you don't have much a phone selection, but I suppose having the freedom to end your service at anytime without incurring termination fees is a greater incentive.
This should be a good plan for students heading back to school this fall.
