Some of the things done to uniforms in the UK are just plain scary, so I was glad to see that kids there finally have a reason to love their school uniform again. Marks and Spencer, a high end department store in the UK, has added iPod-compatible blazers and winter coats to its inventory for kids heading back to school.

Most school uniforms are pretty boring, and the Coat for iPod is no exception, but that won't matter to kids one bit because inside lies a special iPod pocket that lets them control and hide their music players from jealous classmates and even their teacher.

Like most sophisticated iPod jackets, this one has an iPod connector, five function controls, and loops inside to manage the earphone's wirey mess. Prices range between $40-$70, which seem pretty affordable, considering they're designed for hip kids between the ages of ten and sixteen. Of course, to be on the safe side, cool parents thinking about getting one for their tween should consult with the teacher first to avoid any unnecessary confiscations or detention.

As far as I know, this jacket is only available in the UK, but it won't be long before something like this starts selling in the U.S. Mark my words.
