Taking your laptop with you on vacation is probably not a good idea if you're traveling with the family, but what if an iMac was already waiting for you at the hotel room? According to Apple Insider, Apple is installing Mac computers in hotels and cruise ships all over the world in an effort to bring the iMac's media rich experience to the hospitality industry.

So far, the recently renovated Fontainbleau resorts in Miami Beach and Las Vegas are the first hotels to equip each room (all 5,300 of them) with 22-inch iMacs that will also double as a check-in and check-out kiosk. A spokesman for the hotel chain says they want to create the first paperless hotel room, which I'm sure is an afterthought, considering the iMacs will be loaded with digital content guests can pay to download such as celebrity playlists and perhaps even video.

I haven't heard of any other hotel with iMacs in every room, but Hotel Chatter put together a list of Apple-loving hotels that offer guests lounge areas furnished with iMacs and other high tech toys like printers and high-definition TVs. As far as I can tell, Hotel Diva in San Francisco, Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York, and Avenue Hotel in Chicago are listed as having iMacs on site, so you might want to keep that in mind if you're a Mac fan traveling to any of those three cities in the future.
