Things like solar panels, alcohol, and air can generate enough power to charge small gadgets but what about motion? CNet's Green Tech blog says M2E Power is working on a charger that can harvest enough motion to replenish your small gizmos, even your GPS system.

By placing the charger inside your purse or backpack, you can accumulate enough juice to power your cell phone for up to an extra hour of talk time. Inside the charger lies a lithium ion battery and a series of coils and magnet. When the charger is in motion, the movement forms an an electromagnetic field around the coils, and that's how it generates electricity. Sounds simple enough.

Apparently, M2E Power is talking to cell phone manufacturers about implementing this technology into cell phones, but since the technology is still new, it might take two more years before the world is introduced to the self-powered cell phone.

If you're not much of a walker, don't sweat it. The charger can be plugged into an AC outlet.
