Phones these days give you the option to upload your images straight to Flickr or Photobucket, but if you're a T-Mobile subscriber, you may soon see an option to upload your pictures straight to a digital photo frame. As convenient as camera phones are, pictures taken with them don't always make it to your computer, so I can see how T-Mobile's upcoming Cameo service could appeal to shutterbugs who love to share their pictures instantly.

Cameo is like most digital photo frames today capable of holding and displaying up to 500 images uploaded via USB. The main difference here is the digital photo frame comes with a SIM card that allows you to send photos directly to it from your phone provided you sign up for T-Mobile's new service.

Once you become a subscriber, you simply send the images to a special number, and the photos are then instantly displayed in the frame so you and your family can enjoy them without turning on the computer. This feature would be ideal for college students who live away from home and for travelers who want to share a few pics with their family back home.

Images uploaded to Cameo via MMS get resized, rotated, and brightened before circulating in your slideshow, which is a plus if they're coming from a cell phone. Cell Phone Signal says the digital frame will retail for $100, while T-Mobile's MMS service will set you back an extra $10/month. That's not exactly cheap, but that's the price you pay for being the first on the block with this new toy. More details to come soon, so stay tuned.
