Nothing screams style like Beats
by Dr. Dre. The over-the-ear headphones have been the talk of the town this
past year, evident by the numerous cameo appearances on TV shows like "Entourage"
(Turtle wears them on the plane in Episode 65), and several music videos. Personally,
I've seen plenty of celebrities wearing them, not only because they're hot,
but also because they sound better than any pair of headphones out there. No
joke.
Unfortunately, there are those who are not fond of DJ-style headphones because, you know, it might ruin their hair style, so Monster created Beats by Dr. Dre Tour for them. I got my hands on a pair, and was again impressed by the quality of the sound they produced. I've never been a snob about audio, but once you're exposed to the best you begin to expect the same from all the rest. Beats Tour are designed to deliver high resolution sound with deep base and extreme clarity so you can hear the music the way the artist does in the studio, or in this case, the way Dr. Dre does.
Beats Tour come in a black, round zippered case that protects the earphones and has plenty of room inside for the different silicone eartips. The back of the earphones feature a small red "b" and surprisingly, the cables are flat and bright red to boot. The smart tangle-free cable design keeps the wires separated at all times, and eliminate the knots that drive earphone owners insane most of the time. I don't know why it took this long for someone to figure out flat cables would work better, but I'm glad they did.
Maybe I have small ears, but the earbuds seemed a little too long and felt like they were sticking out of my ears. I couldn't decide between the cone tips and triple layered tips, but I finally found a set that created a good seal and felt almost 100 percent right. I say almost, because the angled earbuds just feel awkward in my ears. This may vary from person to person, but if you have small ears like me, you might want to check out a different set of earphones.
Beats Tour come in a box half the size of the original one, but is just as flashy and beautiful. You can tell Monster really prides itself in designing a product that screams quality inside and out. It's no wonder Apple stores proudly display this product on its shelves. r Beats Tour are available now for $150 online at Monster.com and you can also find them at the Apple store.

Do these work with cell phones? Is an adapter needed?
Are they better than Sony's 60.00 pair? They sound pretty good too...
They work on cellphones with a standard earphone jack such as the iphone or samsung eternity otherwise you'll need an adapter. You can try these headphones at Best Buy before buying them. We have a beats display in our mp3 department with both the dj and tour headphones.
They are much better than Sony's MDR-EX series. I've listened through those for years and thought they were pretty decent. I bought the beats tour today and the dynamic range is amazing for ear buds. $150 is a lot to spend on earbuds, but I gotta tell ya, they're worth every penny. Definitely go try a pair for yourself, you'll find (at least I did) that the depth of music is far superior to the Sony's and others in the $50 range. I am very pleasantly surprised. It's like have both a tight bass in your head, but also MUCH cleaner mids! On Jack Johnson's "Losing Keys" you can hear the feedback in the background that you can't on the Sony's - On RAGM, the lyrcis are cleaner, on DMBand and jazz stuff, the instruments are right in front. These are truly worth the money!
Don’t knock them till you’ve tried them!!! I’m definitly traiding in my Bose on ear head phones for Beats. I heard them, tested them on various music, rap, jazz, and rock. There’s nothing like it. If you love music, you will love these headphones. Dre said it best himself, “You will hear the music the way the artist intended.” I sell audio for a living, and the saying “You get what you pay for” is true in every aspect of consumer electronics. If you can’t afford to rock the Beats, fine, but don’t hate on the people that have the passion for music that want to enjoy it.
i had a pair for one night, they suck, especially for the money. sounds are harsh, no bass and forget turning them up unless you want to damage you ears. going to stick with my vibes.
man u guys r out of your mind

They may seem pricey at $149, however, I understand they are sonically superior to any other in-ear headphone on the market. Plus, they look totally cool. Either way, get rid of your inferior iPod ear buds and upgrade.
