Why turn a knob when you can just wave? If that sounds about right to you, you'll get a kick out of this new speaker system from Japan that let you tweak the volume with a regal wave of your hand.

The Portable Motion Speaker from e-Revolution (about $100) looks a little like a refugee from "Lost in Space," what with its ear-like stereo speakers and large, oval-shaped mood light (which turns red, green and blue—very 60s). Packing in an FM radio, a USB port and a 3.5mm jack for your MP3 player, the device cranks out your tunes through a pair of 0.7-watt speakers. Want to change FM stations or pump up the volume? Just wave your hand a few inches in front of the speaker, and your wish will be its command.
