Don't worry: the story about Apple delaying the iPhone until October (and pushing back Leopard, the update to Mac OS X, even further, to January) is apparently false.
CNET News.com reports that Apple stock prices plunged today after Engadget
posted a story claiming that Apple was delaying the iPhone's planned June launch until October. According to Engadget, the rumor was based on an official-sounding internal memo sent out to a number of Apple employees. However, Apple corporate quickly sent out a second e-mail stating that the first message was fake. Apple stock crumbled 2.2 percent after the rumor hit the Web; as of 3:30 PM EST,
Apple shares had rebounded but were still down 0.55 percent.
Anyway, the official line is that the iPhone is still coming out in June, as scheduled.
