The massive iPhone bug fix that Steve Jobs promised us Tuesday is here, and so far, iPhone users are reporting peppier performance, faster backups, and more signal bars. But is reception actually any better? Tell us what you think.

Still waiting for Apple & AT&T to straighten this mess out before I part with my hard earned dollars. Looks like my old RAZR will have to soldier on until that day. Meanwhile, I am continuing to look at alternative 3G phones. Apple, don't keep me waiting too long, Sumsung beckons...
My phone runs much smoother and faster. The contacts was taking 3-7 seconds to start working...now it comes up immediately and responsive after 1 second. Still not instantaneous initially...but after that 1 second it is instantaneous. I am happy. :)
before any of u go and buy a 3g phone make sure u live in an area with 3g service, because if you dont you will get spotty service where your internet may or may not connect regardless of being in the edge network. so not all of the problems that are occuring with the iphone 3g are iphone problems but more of people living in non 3g areas. if you have a 3g phone unless u disable the 3g part it will constantly look for the 3g and this can cause interruptions when it comes to your internet. At least thats what an At&T rep told me.
well I updated and must say I'm very happy with having all my bars, before with 3g only use to get 2 bars. We have two. mines and wifeys. So after the update I went upstairs to call her with the full bars we had. And her phone after a few seconds said called failed and hung up. At least mines didn't LOL. About static she did say I sounded funny. To say the truth I'm really not going to be using 3g for calls. 3g is going to be when I'm waitting in some line where that I need 3g speeds to surf. to say the truth tupeing here it's slow typing. But I'm still happy.
I have to say I'm happy so far with the update. It seems to grab a signal a lot faster than it used to. Something that bugged me before too was how the apps would move to the last page when you downloaded an update. Now when you download an app the icon goes to the last page and downloads and then after it's done the app stays in the same place it was before the update. And the apps update A LOT faster.
could not get reception at work before, me or my boss, now, flawless with much better voice quality, as noticed by my wife on the other side. MUCH faster sync and no longer randomly crashes on me. i'm happy....er MMS MMS MMS
at first it was working much better, now i got 2 dropped calls while on 3G battery life doesn't seem much better...and my browsing speeds seem to have slow down. I used to get 700kb to 900 now im looking at 300kb-600kb what the f**?
I have only had my phone for a week but prior to the update i had 1-3 bars and mediocre 3G web access. Since the update 4-5 bars, great web access, quicker response from the phone and better battery life. Im even more satisfied now with the update.
i travel a whole lot and find it laughable that we are so excited about edge and 3g service. I have been in countries that have had 3g service for 3 years already and have updated to 3.5g service. AT&T needs to go to Qatar and take a class from their COMM Carrier. They even offer Wireless cameras you can check from your Moblie phone, or a computer. All on the 3 and 3.5g networks. 3g Is about 3 years old. I suggest some of these people get out and travel more.

This is almost exactly like the Xbox 360 situation. Apple rushed their production of the 3G iPhone and look what happened. I wanted a 3G iPhone before all of these problems arose. Now I am looking for other options.
