Well, it looks like someone out there's watching Blu-ray movies, if the case of "Iron Man" and the overloaded BD-Live servers is any indication.

same here no issues
Here as well. 2 min download no problems. Awesome
How presumptuous of Paramount to assume I even care about BD-live content enough to have it forced down my throat. Oh wait, it's Hollywood...presumption is par for the course. Hopefully, this will be a lesson to all studios to make extra "live" content an OPTION.
Just to clarify things, there are plenty of BD Live (profile 2.0) discs out there that do not do this check upon loading. It's a Paramount thing apparently (some people met the same problem with The Blu Ray edition of Transformers). What they should do is do the Doownload only if someone clicks on the BD Live/ Interactive bonuses option on the menu imo.
bought it day one from walmart - took all of one minuet to download on my PS3.
I HAVE THE BDPS350 SONY BLUE RAY PLAYER . JUST DOWNLOADED THE UPDATE TO MAKE IT 2.0 CAPABLE AND THE BD LIVE DOESNT WORK ON IRON MAN. REST OF THE MOVIE IS GREAT.
I have the BDPS350 player also. There was a blue piece of paper packed in the box that said Sony would be releasing an update in 2008 for the player that would enable BD live. So, where is it ? Attempted updating and screen reads that I have latest update. Why do the PS3's have it and the BDPS350's don't ? What's up Sony ?
I picked up the Iron Man Blu-Ray DVD on Tuesday. Went home, Poped it into my PS3 and Just like you said, got the blue ring of death. After several minutes I tried hitting all of the buttons on my remote to no avail. Finally hit "Play" and it jumped to the main menu. Not sure if this actually worked or if it was just coincidence. I agree it should go to the Main Menu first and then have the option to download the content.
yeah I stared at that blue orb for about 10 min, just before I was gonna skip the movie,it kicked in. hate getting angry right before a movie.

I got mine last night, last one at wal-mart (luckily i work there in photo and know the electronics people) and went home, threw it in the PS3, and it downloaded the thing in like 2 minutes. Watched the movie with no problems.
