Will the boys in Blu have to pry your HD DVD player from your cold, dead hands? Well, bad news: You can still snap up cheap HD DVDs from the likes of Amazon and Second Spin, but come December 15, you won't be renting them from Netflix anymore.

Sure am. I purchase about 50 HD DVDs a month right now. Still plenty of titles to get. I have zero desire to spend the ridiculous cash to buy a BluRay player. And BD sales STILL lag HD DVD sales - by nearly 10000 to 1. If it was not for Iron Man, the difference would be almost a million to 1.
I'm in a class unto myself..... I don't care!! no hd dvd..........no blue ray.... I'm quite happy with plain old dvd...untouched..... but then,......I still enjoy my music cassettes...... I'm old school.......this modern crap doesn't impress me.

do HD DVD players upscale standard DVDs at all?
