Like a zombie that just won't die, the DTV delay bill—which was voted down by the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday—has sprung back to life, with a little help from the Senate.

If they're not ready by now, more time won't make any difference. We've known about this for YEARS! There's only thing that will motivate these people. No TV. Then they'll get a converter the next day, no matter how much it costs.
If this bill passes, stations will still have the right to turn off analog anyway. Because of the expense of running two transmitters, what difference would it make? Let's just shut it off now and help people get their coupons.
Why do pay our taxes for people to get a converter box. Is it a right to have TV. Welcome to the USSA (United Socialist States of America)
AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! Switch it already, for God's sake!!! It doesn't matter how much you give, there will ALWAYS be someone who ISN'T ready. Just do it!! DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!
Hawaii has already switched. Guess they are smarter than the mainland???
You know, we can land a man on the moon, and we can cure all kinds of diseases we couldn't even conceive of 50 years ago. But when you ask people to get into the 21st century, we make lame excuses why we can't get with the program. This is just pandering to people's weakness. Start saying "I Can", instead of I can't. People that aren't ready shouldn't be watching T.V., they should be getting time management training. We've known about this change for 5 freakin' years! Get over it already!!
I still find it hard to believe people still use roof-mounted antennas or "rabbit ears" to get television reception. Sure, I'm as nostalgic for the 80's as the next guy, but c'mon! Welcome to the 21st century already... :-)
Since when is TV a privilege? If you cant afford television then oh well. The TV stations don't deserve to pay for the added expense of keeping analog on the air just because some haven't bought the converter box.
the elderly and the poor, the two biggest affected by the change are the two demographics most unprepared. Add in the fact that digital signals don't "bounce" like analog does, so many in america won't receive programming unless they get satellite or cable- forcing people to spend much needed cash to have tv - because the digital signal doesn't work in their area - ie: valleys, cities, etc. Delay delay delay.

You know they should just delay the transition. I mean it's really hard out here fincially and giving people more time to make a transition like that would be appreciated I think. I know I would.
