Yes, I'm a Machead. I own a MacBook Pro, an old PowerBook G4, an Apple Airport Extreme Wi-Fi base station, an Apple TV, and an iPhone—and my wife has an iPhone, too. But if I see one more of those smug, squirm-inducing "Mac vs. PC" ads on TV, I'm gonna toss my HDTV out the window.

Hmm Welcome to the real world Mac users your're not so perfect after all.
Thanks Ben that why "PC RULES".
Well i do gaming, web design, photo editing, blogging, web browsing, Blu-Ray videos, music and pretty much anything else that a computer is capable of on my PC and it works fine, but that's beside the point. As you said Ben these videos are very smug, they just reek of sheer arrogance. If you like Macs, whatever, that's your prerogative but I like my PC just fine, thanks. I haven't actually seen one of these ads in a long time and had hoped they got over themselves, but apparently I was much mistaken.
I second that motion Ben. Enough is enough.
I love my Mac and I do think in general they work easier/better than PCs. But Macs have their problems. (I have a Linux laptop too: great for me would I recommend it to my Mom? Not a chance.) There is no perfect computer out there. -- On the Ads: interesting that "PC" is funny and you feel sympathy for him while "Mac" is kind of a self-righteous know-it-all. Why does that work as an ad strategy?
Well the ad works because it forces the consumer to pick sides. In most situations people tend to take the side of the agressor. I always thought these ads were very childish, kinda like that kid in highschool that thought he was the best at everything and would brag and brag until one day someone just punched him in the mouth.
AHHHH! I still like Mac, sorry.....
here here!
I'm a PC user that has a bit of Mac envy from time to time. But it is hard to justify making the switch given the price difference when there are far more important things (for me at least) to be spending my money on. And I'm sure if Apple didn't spend so much plastering these ads everywhere, their computers wouldn't cost so much! I do think that John Hodgeman is one of the funniest men alive though. Too bad he spends his time making these commercials.

Relax, Ben. You could still be trying to get this article written and published, if you were stuck using a PC. I have never had to install a printer driver with any of my Macs, but I have a friend who complicates her Mac experience on a regular basis, so I know it can be done. Just remember, things could be worse, you could be a PC.
