The editors at PC World teamed up with wireless testing firm Novarum to take a "single-day snapshot" of nationwide 3G wireless performance. The results? Verizon Wireless gets the "speed demon" award and Sprint leads the pack in reliability, while AT&T suffers from a dependability gap.

I can't stand verizon phones they don't offer many features like other carriers I rather stick to AT&T
One note about the "antenna bars" on your phone. Blackberry (over AT&T, my work phone) says in the user documentation that the bars only indicate cell signal strength for the GSM (phone) portion of your phone. Data connectivity is shown as a go-no go situation by the appearance of the words "edge" or "3G". As I drive around town, I can have 5 bars with no data capability, or great email with no phone coverage. I guess what we need is a killer app that tells what your data speed really is. The carriers will LOVE that one.
I have the unusual Helio and it works fine! Fast 3G, good coverage (even where verizon and AtT don't work, good phones, and cheap prices!!!!
at&t is awesome and is very reliable and the higher price is well worth it
Verizon is never a problem for. Would love an iphone for features, but I am concerned about the feedback on dropped calls.
This just shows why the exclusive agreements with phone makers hurt consumers. AT&T would be quick to improve it's performance if Iphone users were able to take their phones to another network.
Im a Sprint customer and my 3G signal as never fail and I travel alot thruout the U.S
What is really frustrating is that Verizon really does have amazing coverage, but AT&T phones are better phones. Problem is you never get to experience the better quality because their service sucks so much. Sprint just doesn't have the bandwidth to compete and they are not a world phone. If Verizon ever decides to switch to a world phone and get better products I would switch back in a heart beat. Also they need to add a SIM CARD (tough concept I know)!! Until then I am chained to god awful AT&T.
I have AT&T and 3G in my area is very good (Raleigh, NC). I can go anywhere around the city and get it. Other parts of NC I get Edge. Hopefully AT&T will expand their 3G coverage in the future. I don't care much for Verizon because a couple years ago, I briefly switched to Verizon from AT&T and had less signal bars in the same area where I got all the bars with AT&T.

I feel bad for the iPhone people... not really. Lol. Verizon has been the best overall for years.
