LG Rumor Texting Phone Set for Sprint

The mid-range messaging phone comes with a slide-out QWERTY keypad for texting and instant messaging; no 3G access, but at just $80, it's hard to complain.

Mobile Burn has the scoop on the Rumor, a candy-bar style phone that weighs in at about four ounces and boasts a two-inch display. The slide-out keypad looks relatively roomy—much more so than the tiny QWERTY keypad on the upcoming Palm Centro on Sprint ($99). That said, the Rumor lacks the Centro's corporate e-mail and EV-DO access, so you won't get streaming video or full-track music downloads. Still, the Rumor does comes with a solid set of features for a mid-range phone, including Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD memory expansion, GPS, and a mobile Web browser; you'll also be able to side-load your favorite tunes with help from the downloadable Sprint Music Manager. At $80 with a two-year contract (and available on October 21, according to Mobile Burn), the phone might make for a good choice for on-the-go texters who don't need to tap into their Exchange accounts.

I could care less about the camera phone, I am glad that Sprint listened to there younger customers and made a phone that has the keyboard sliding out to the side instead of its signature sliding upward. And i hope this isn't sprint's last candy bar phone at that. Hopefully i do plan to get this phone sometime next year, when my rebate is activated in July...so excited

I recently just purchased this phone for myself. After about a day of playing around with it and seeing what it is capable of. I am actually vary surprised on how everything is on it. The only thing I kinda dislike about it, is that the directional key pad should have a miniature one on the qwerty pad. Instead of having to reach all the way up there for it. I give it a 4.25 out of 5 stars guys.

What an awesome phone. The only downside to this phone is the resolution on the phone and the camera, pictures come out a little dark. But overall phones good.

I have this phone now and used to have the Verizon enV. The Rumor is slimmer and looks nicer. I miss the 2.0 camera on the enV but overall this is a better phone. And yes the phone is down to $50 and at Fry's you get a $50 rebate too.... I love that they came out with 2 colors right away instead of just flat silver.

I like my Rumor.. The only down side is that is does not have a leather case. The have a platic one that comes in red and black is real crapy. I have already broken one. Ant the red rubbs off my white phone. They also dont have a car charger for the go chargers! That is my only downside.. But overall great phone.
