The Canon Pixma 830 is an all-in-one printer that scans, copies, faxes, and prints. It has a slew of memory card slots to accept cards from your digital camera or camcorder. You can print directly without using a computer as the intermediary. It supports IBM Microdrive, Memory Stick, CompactFlash, SmartMedia, SD Memory Card, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick PRO, and works with PictBridge ready devices. The Pixma also has a 2.5-inch color LCD that lets you preview photos before you print.

The Pixma spits out black and white prints quickly at 30 pages per minute. The printer holds 300 sheets of paper and includes a drawer for irregular stock, like envelopes or 4x6 photo paper.
The Pixma's resolution is 9600 x 2400 dpi, and the quality was generally good, but when we printed several larger photos, some banding and horizontal lines appeared in the prints.

I have been using it several months and must say it does a very good job on photo printing up to 8x10. The general printing is generally good in speed and quality. On the negative side I point out the noise when getting ready to print.

I own one, and I like it, although I wi----- were wireless and that it wouldn't take so long before starting to print.

If you search this printer on Amazon.com, read the reviews - many negative and complaining of the same problems, you'll find why I regret having purchased this printer. Unfortunately, it is described by one person (and there are many bad reviews there to read) as a printer you'll want to run (and not walk) away from. I am posting this to warn anyone - I agree. Now in order to resell it, I'll lose most of my $.

I have the the early model 780. Its been great. never failed me except when I used non factory ink.(Don't do that)! I bought a wireless printer device from Fry's for 25.00 it works great. I would buy a canon first. I don't think mine is ready to die yet its only 5 years old.
