The Garmin StreetPilot 330 is an in-car navigation device that does a good job getting you from point A to point B and also helps locate the nearest McDonalds along the way. The device is simple to use; its 3.5-inch LCD screen is touch sensitive. You punch in an address, and then the StreetPilot displays either a birds-eye map or a three-dimensional map, and it lists turn-by-turn directions. Join in the discussion. I purchased my c330 for about $550 about 15 months ago. and all the drivers at my pizza place have the same model. they are the best. easy to use and very convenient. although today i have seen them on sale for as low as $285 glad i got mine for $550 lol
I have one, and it's remarkably easy to use. I like the ability to save places as favorites (although after you've used it a few times, you realize that most of the places you want to save, you already know how to get to....). The response time is fast, and I don't find myself actually *at* the intersection when I'm told to turn left or right, which is nice. We routinely pull a 34' fifth wheel travel trailer, and I like that the configuration allows me to specify whether I'm in a car or truck, as using the truck option seems to route me past tight places. The only drawback that I've found is that I can't be someplace and tell the GPS to save 'here' in my favorites. It'd be nice, but it's not a deal breaker. As for price, I paid $300 and change and haven't regretted it. In fact, shortly after I bought it, the windshield bracket developed a defect, and Garmin gladly sent me a new one, absolutely no questions asked. I'm SOLD.
is it possible to display the actual Long/Lat on the 330?
We have one of those (I don't know if it's the exact model but it's very similar) and it has been a great purchase! It is used only when we travel, because both cars in our household have built-in GPS, but it is REALLY nice.
I am a truck driver and I have a street pilot c530. I had the c330. Both are great units but to the writer liteluvr I wanted to respond to your suggestion about not saving a "here" spot. Try this ok....If you have past your spot and decided you want to save where you are at....just tap the screen and it should ask you if you want to save it. Put it in favorites and name it...away you go. I know these things like the back of my hand.you can input phone numbers too! Also when inputing addresses..DO NOT put in "south" or "west" etc..The unit will find the address directions.
Oh, but you can save your current location as a favorite. You select "go to" from the menu and then select "map" which is about the third page down. The map is showing exactly where you are. Select save this location and then name it. And then put it n your favorites or just as a recently selected place. You just did no go down far enough, the Garmin documentation could be a bit more explanatory of all the functions.
I just recently used one and it was great!
I have a Garmin 330c which is a good GPS system in its functionality. However, I developed a crack in the clip that fastens it to the window mount and eventually the clip broke off of the back of the GPS unit. Now I can not secure the GPS to the window. If I were to get into an accdent while using my GPS it could become a lethal projectile. I reported my problem to Garmin and they are replacing my unit. Good customer service experience.
I have 2 and I love them. One for each car. I do not like the fact that I have to purchase new maps for $70 on-line but as far as I am concerned it is worth it. I am in sales and must travel all across 2 states to homes in the middle of nowhere and it has yet to fail me. Very easy to use.
