At this years Leipzig Games Convention, Sony announced hardware refreshes for the PSP and PS3 along with a new wireless keyboard just in time for the holiday rush.
Reuters reports that the newly updated PSP-3000 model will feature a built-in mic, Skype software, and a newer, brighter LCD screen. David Reeves, President of SCEE, says the reason behind the built-in mic and Skype software is to "establish the PSP as a viable communications device." The new PSP-3000 will retail for €199 (a price increase over the €169), and although it has only been announced for European markets, expect it to make its way state-side before too long.
UPDATE: Kotaku says that the North American version is confirmed and will be bundled with Ratchet & Clank along with a 4GB Memory Stick Duo.
Sony also announced a new updated Playstation 3, featuring a larger 160GB hard drive. The new console will be retailing for €449 and will come bundled with a €70 credit for downloadable content via the Playstation Network. It will hit European shelves on October 31.
UPDATE: Kotaku also reports that there will be a 160GB PS3 for North America—a "limited edition" bundle that knocks off the downloadable credit and adds "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune." It will be launching in November.
Also coming this November (according to GameSpot) is a new Bluetooth wireless keyboard designed for the PS3. It clamps on to Sixaxis and Dual Shock controllers, but it isn't clear if it is self powered or draws power from the controller. Finally, an alternative (and hopefully more cost effective) solution to the DiNovo Mini (which is a great product btw).

Cool keyboard, I prefer a fullsize one though. oh and that psp 3000, I hope they did something else to it that they didn't mention here. This doesn't seem like enough for a full update.
